NHBUA Umpire Evaluation Process
1. Performance Review Coordinator:
Contacts both the umpire to be evaluated and the evaluator by email
Indicates the date, time and game for the evaluation
Reviews and records the completed evaluation form submitted by the
evaluator
Sends a copy of the completed evaluation form to the Umpire Supervisor
2. Umpire Being Evaluated:
Contacts the evaluator to confirm the date and arranges a pre-game
conversation in advance to discuss the evaluation
Addresses any areas of performance that are of interest/concern and any
questions about the evaluation with the evaluator
3. Evaluator:
Conducts a pre-game conversation with the umpire being evaluated
Observes the umpire during the game and conducts a post-game
conversation to offer feedback
Completes the NHBUA Evaluation form and shares it with the umpire being
evaluated
Conducts a post-evaluation conversation with the umpire and makes any
adjustments to the evaluation form
Submits the completed evaluation form to both the PRC and the umpire being
evaluated
Requests payment for the evaluation from the PRC
